Tsum Valley Trek is the best trekking package in Manaslu region of Nepal to explore the remote, less beaten, virgin and hidden valley settlement (Tsum valley), rich in Tibetan buddhist culture and tradition. “Tsum Valley” is one of the world’s remotest and sacred Himalayan Buddhist pilgrimage Valleys in nepal which was restricted region until it was opened for trekking in 2008. It is situated in the trans-himalayan region behind Mt. Manaslu and set against the majestic backdrop of the Ganesh Himal (7,422m), Sringi Himal (7,187m) and Buddha Himal (6,672m). Literally, Tsum comes from the Tibetan word “Tsombo”, which means vivid. Lots of people residing in this Valley are direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants (Tibetan). Their language, custom and culture are almost exclusively Tibetan. This serene Himalaya valley is extensively rich in ancient art, culture and religion dwelled with Buddhist monasteries, nunneries, chortens and prayer walls and significant religious monuments, the longest Mani walls at Dzong and Phurpe are great attractions.
The famous Kyimu Lung, a pilgrimage circuit in the central Trans-Himalayas, is well known for its center of learning and meditation. This circuit traverses the Tsum Valley, Manaslu region in Nepal, and southern parts of Tibet. The Tsum Valley has long history of Buddhism. The Buddhist saint Milarepa is believed to have meditated in the caves of these mountains.
Tsum Valley is one of the hidden gems in Nepal. The region is still less exposed, relatively with virgin and less beaten paths in comparison of other tourist and more popular areas. It remains untouched by the modernization with ancient villages and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries is waiting to be explored. Due to its remoteness and inaccessibility, this sacred valley is much undeveloped but rich in its unique art, culture, tradition and warm hospitality of ethnic people. Even these days, some families practise polyandry (having more than one husband at a time) is another strength tradition which may be quite surprising for many outsiders.
Hence, Tsum Valley Trek is one of the best trips to explore the unspoiled himalayan nature, tibetan buddhist culture and tradition.
