Kanchenjunga Trek is one of the best trekking packages in an isolated and remote areas of Nepal which is still untouched by modernization maintaining its virginity naturally and culturally. Kanchenjunga Trek has Mt. Kanchenjunga as a prime attraction. Kanchenjunga is the world’s third highest mountain located in the far north eastern region of Nepal. The mountain peak is considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. The Kanchenjunga trek has an equally growing popularity especially among the adventure seekers. The trekking zone is an isolated, natural and very challenging making it a journey to remember life long.
The natural and untouched trekking area offers a great view of landscapes and mountain peaks along with the unique lifestyle of the remote villages. The trek starts from Suketar and enters the wonderful tropical lowlands and alpine meadows, vibrant rhododendron forests, exciting green valleys and chilling icy glaciers. The Kanchenjunga region is a hidden valley with many mysterious places yet to be unraveled. The thrill of the trekking in the region makes it an ideal destination for adventure seekers. Trekking in this region is a very challenging task but the trekkers are rewarding with astounding brilliance of the Himalayas.
The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area has been protecting the wild flora and fauna and is a major attraction of the region. The Conservation Area shelters rare species like the snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, red panda and many varieties of birds like the Impheyan, pheasant, red-billed blue magpie, drongo, etc.
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to hotel. Short briefing of trip. Check in to hotel and rest for refreshment .Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.
Day 02 : Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour and Trek Preparation – B
After breakfast, pick up from hotel and head towards Kathmandu sightseeing tour especially UNESCO world cultural heritage sites which includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square for the experience of beautiful fusion of religion, culture and history. These heritage monuments reflect the centuries old arts, architecture and culture of Nepal which are medieval charm of Malla Dynasty. After tour, drop off to hotel and make a preparation for Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek, including all permits and trekking equipment. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu.
Day 03 : Fly from Kathmandu – Suketar (2,420m), trek to Lalikharka (2,265m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, pick up from hotel and transfer to domestic airport terminal for the flight to Suketar which is located in the eastern region of Nepal. After reaching Suketar, start the trek to Lalikharka. It goes on a simultaneous ascent and descent trail that mostly passes through lush green forests all the way to Lalikharkha. Overnight at Tea house, Lalikharka.
Day 04 : Lalikharka – Trek to Khesewa (2,120m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Khesewa. It is mostly an easy descent until Phundrawa. From here the trek is ascent. It is a steep climb until Yangpang from where the trek climbs steadily up until Phumphe Danda followed by another ascent to Khesewa. The trek passes through forests and small villages. Overnight at Tea house, Khesewa.
Day 05 : Khesewa – Trek to Mamankhe (1,785m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Mamankhe. At first, the trek heads towards the Kabeli Khola. Next, it goes on a trail that passes through forests before crossing a small stream. On the way, it provides an amazing views of the Himalayan peaks while passing through several beautiful small villages. Overnight at Tea house, Mamankhe.
Day 06 : Mamankhe – Trek to Yamphudin (2,080m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Yamphudin.Today’s trek is mostly uphill on an easy trail which mostly goes alongside the Kabeli Khola. During this day’s trek, admire the beautiful ridge behind the stream and a beautiful waterfall nearby. After trekking for some time, it crosses a small suspension bridge and passes through small settlements before reaching Yamphudin to spend the night. Overnight at Tea house, Yamphudin.
Day 07 : Yamphudin – Trek to Tortong (2,995m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Tortong. The trek goes on a trail commonly used by the villagers and passes through terraced farms and green meadows. Along the trail, enjoy the constant company of the Himalayas. Then the trek goes on a trail along the Amji Khola and also crosses a pass at Lassiya Bhanjyang before reaching Tortong. Overnight at Tea house, Tortong.
Day 08 : Tortong – Trek to Cheram (3,870m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Cheram. The trek is gradual ascent and goes towards right at the side of the Simbuwa Khola. The trekking on the beautiful Lalung valley is pleasant having Tuplung peak as company for the most part of today’s journey. The trek passes through thick rhododendron forest and enjoy the magnificence of the Yalung Glacier. Overnight at Tea house, Cheram.
Day 09 : Acclimatization and Rest at Cheram – B/L/D
This is a rest day for acclimatization. Spend a day in Cheram which will help to acclimatize the high altitude climate. Spend the rest of the day resting and taking small hikes. Explore the areas around the Yalung Glacier. There is also a viewpoint for Kabaru and Rathong peaks. Overnight at Tea hose, Cheram.
Day 10 : Cheram – Trek to Ramchaur (Ramche) (4,580m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Ramchaur. The trek is ascent for sometimes before reaching the snout of the Yalung Glacier. It is a beautiful journey on a valley trail which provides cherish able views of several Himalayan peaks and passes through a small settlement of Lapsang before reaching Ramche. Overnight at Tea house, Ramche.
Day 11 : Ramchaur (Ramche) – Trek to Yalung Base Camp (4,500m), back to Cheram – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Ramche. The trek goes further up the valley. It then follows a stream before climbing up the moraine top until confronted by Kanchenjunga’s southern face and then goes further ahead for a glimpse of the Jannu Himal. The trek continues further towards the Oktang Monastery. From here, it climbs further up and reach the Yalung Base Camp. The view from the base camp is outstanding. Kumbakarna (Jannu), Nyukla Lachung and other Himalayan peaks are close by. It descends down to Cheram. Overnight at Tea house, Cheram.
Day 12 : Cheram – Trek to Sele La (4,290m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Sele La. Today, the trek crosses four passes beginning with Sinelapche Bhanjyang. After crossing this pass, the trek continues to Mirgin La pass then Sinion La pass which is not very far and then ascends to Sele La pass. There are prayer flags strung across one of the steeper sections of the trail which is very near to the Sele La pass. It also crosses this pass. Overnight at Tea house, Sele La.
Day 13 : Sele La – Trek to Ghunsa (3,595m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Ghunsa. The trek heads towards the north Tangbgharma Danda nearby and reaches a chorten marked by prayer flags which marks the start of a steep trail. The trek descends through rhododendron, birch and pine forests before reaching Ghunsa. It is a beautiful village of houses with dark and weathered pine walls and Buddhist prayer flags. Overnight at Tea house, Ghunsa.
Day 14 : Ghunsa – Trek to Kambachen (4,050m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Kambachen. The trek heads further towards north along the river bank which offers the magnificent mountain scenery. It passes through meadows filled with beautiful wildflowers, then crosses rhododendron and pine forests, a bridge at Rampuk Kharka, a waterfall and the tricky section of a landslide. After crossing the landslide area, it offers the spectacular view of Mt. Jannu. Further exploring and tackling the tricky mountain trail, it reaches Kambachen. Overnight at Tea house, Kambachen.
Day 15 : Kambachen – Trek to Lhonak (4,780m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Lhonak. Today is another challenging day and an early start is needed. The trek goes through rocky fields and large boulders on the hillside along the riverbank and reaches at waterfall, then crosses a bridge and then comes across a landslide section which must be passed through at a steady pace before descending to the river and finally arrives at Lhonak. Overnight at Tea house, Lhonak.
Day 16 : Lhonak – Trek to Kanchenjunga base camp, overnight at Pangpema (5,143) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The trek goes on the trail alongside the gigantic Kanchenjunga Glacier. After passing Pangpema, the trek descends towards the Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The view from the base camp is outstanding. Mt. Kanchenjunga, Jannu Himal and other Himalayan peaks are to be admired. The trek descends back to Pangpema. Overnight at Tea house, Pangpema.
Day 17 : Pngpema – Trek to Lhonak – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek back to Lhonak. Overnight at Tea house, Lhonak.
Day 18 : Lhonak – Trek to Ghunsa (3,475m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek back to Ghunsa, which is descent. Overnight at Tea house, Ghunsa.
Day 19 : Ghunsa – Trek to Amjilosa (2,308m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Amjilosa. The trek descends towards Phale and passes through several Manes, nearby monastery and juniper forests. From here, it is a steady descent to Gyabla. It crosses a bridge over Chhundatangka Khola to reach Gyabla. As it continues, offers a waterfall nearby and crosses a suspension bridge over Sumbung Khola before reaching Amjilosa. Overnight at Tea house, Amjilosa.
Day 20 : Amjilosa – Trek to Chirawa (1,270m) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Chirawa. After trekking for a while, it offers a beautiful waterfall nearby. The trek continues and passes a small settlement of Solima before crossing a suspension bridge over Ghunsa Khola. Then it crosses another suspension bridge over Ghunsa Khola and reaches Sukathum. And then, the trek passes through several villages and goes alongside of Thunsa Khola at first followed by Tamor Nadi before reaching Chirawa. Overnight at Tea house, Chirawa.
Day 21 : Chirawa – Trek to Phurumba (1,549) – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Phurumba. The settlement starts getting thicker as the trek goes on descending. The trek goes alongside lush vegetation and passes through several villages before reaching Sinwa. From here, the trek continues to descend and crosses a bridge over the Sisne Khola which lies in the Pathibhara Trek trail. The trek further descends and passes through another village and crosses another suspension bridge over the Yaphre Khola to reach Phurumba. Overnight at Tea house, Phurumba.
Day 22 : Phurumba – Trek to Suketar – B/L/D
After breakfast, start the trek to Suketar which ends today. Take a rest after reaching Suketar. Overnight at Tea house, Suketar.
Day 23 : Fly Suketat – Kathmandu – B/D
After breakfast, fly to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Enjoy the free the time by shopping at souvenir shops or hanging around Thamel (tourism hub city). In the evening, farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with cultural dance performance hosted by Galaxy World Travels Services to celebrate the successful completion of Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu.
Day 24 : Departure – B
Leisure until departure. Transfer to International airport to board the flight.
Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with us. Please note that your Trekking leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it seems necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to maintain the above itinerary; however, travelling in remote mountainous regions can’t be taken guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

3.All accommodation in 3-star category hotels on bed and breakfast basis in Kathmandu whilst Tea House accommodation on full board basis (all meals) during the trek.

5.All sightseeing heritage monuments entrance fees.
6.Kathmandu – Suketar – Kathmandu transportation by domestic flight.
7.All the necessary permit charges for trekking, official service charges, government and local taxes.
8.Highly experienced, friendly, government license holder guide and porter with salary, accommodation, food, transportation and insurance.
9.Sleeping bag, down jacket, duffel bag and trekking poles (To be returned after the completion of trekking).
10.Medical supplies (First aid kit carried by trekking leader).
11.Arrangement of helicopter service for rescue (under the emergency situation), which will be paid by your travel insurance company.
