It is also popular as the Muktinath Temple Tour, Muktinath Darshan, or Muktinath Yatra. Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is located in the Mustang district of Nepal, at an altitude of 3,710 meters in the Himalayas. Mustang is also known as the "forbidden kingdom" of Nepal. It is famous for the ancient Hindu temple, Muktinath Temple, in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (the preserver of gods). This is one of the 106 sacred Muktichhetras (places of assurance of salvation) of the 108 sacred places of Vaishnavas, where Lord Vishnu attained liberation from the curse of Sati. Muktinath has the largest Shaligram and also has a Jwaladevi, a heavenly flame that has been continuously burning for countless years.
Muktinath is Nepal’s second-most sacred Hindu shrine after Pashupatinath in Kathmandu and must be visited once in a lifetime. Hindu pilgrims come here to bathe in the 108 cow’s head-shaped water spouts, and Buddhists come here to pay homage to a shrine enclosing an eternal blue flame. Pilgrims bathe in holy water spouts to purify their bodies before visiting the temple for worship.
This is not only a religiously important place but also a natural one. This is a great place to observe and enjoy the magnificent views of the Himalayas, the fabulous and typical valley of Kali Gandaki, and the cultural diversity of ethnic groups.

So, it is wise to make an advance booking prior to your departure. The most reliable access is by air from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then by road from Pokhara to Muktinath Temple.
Muktinath temple is directly accessible by air from Pokhara. In the autumn (September to November) and spring seasons (March to June), there are almost regular flights from Pokhara. And during the remaining months of the year, the airport is shut down due to unfavorable weather. The flight is feasible only in the morning (5–9 am) because the airport is located at a high altitude and requires clear weather for the flight over numerous mountains, which provides good visibility in the morning, and there is a strong wind blowing in the afternoon that also affects the flight. You can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara one day ago, and the next day fly from Pokhara to Jomsom Airport, which is the closest airport to Muktinath Temple. From Jomsom, you can take a jeep ride to the vehicle station for one and a half hours and then walk for half an hour to reach Muktinath Temple, which is about 25 kilometers away. Likewise, take a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, and the next day from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
From Kathmandu, you can either take a bus or a jeep directly to Muktinath Temple, or you can take one from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then another from Pokhara to Jomsom. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, the drive by road takes about 6-7 hours, and from Pokhara to Muktinath Temple, it takes another 7-8 hours.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to the hotel. Briefing on the trip. Check into the hotel and rest for refreshments. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
