Bhutan, the land of the thunder dragon has become one of the most exotic travel destinations in the world today. It is located between the two giant countries India and Tibetan region of china.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to hotel. Short briefing of trip. Check in to hotel and rest for Refreshment .Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and proceed to Kathmandu sightseeing tour especially UNESCO Cultural Heritage Sites; Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu durbar square and Patan durbar square for the experience of beautiful fusion of religion, culture and history. These heritage monuments reflect centuries old culture, arts and architecture of Nepal which are medieval charms of Malla Dynasty. After Tour, drop back to the hotel and overnight at hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, transfer to International airport for the flight to Paro through a scenic flight which offers the panoramic views of the Himalayas including Everest on a clear and sunny day, but particularly exciting is the approach through the Bhutanese foothills and the landing, including a few steep turns to land at the tiny airstrip of Paro.Upon arrival in Paro, meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel in Thimpu. Overnight at hotel, Thimpu.

After having breakfast, transfer to Cheri Gompa by 20 minutes drive and then 30-45 minutes steep climb up hill. This is a pleasant rural drive, gently up a valley through paddy fields and woodland via a Tibetan village, from Dodena.This Gompa was first built in 1620 by Shabdrung, the first ruler of Bhutan, who also established the first order of monks here and It is usually possible to enter Cheri courtyard and also shall be allowed to visit the shrines inside, then descend to the bottom of the hill, transfer back to Thimphu. In the late afternoon/evening drive to the site of Colorful Weekend Market where people from all walks of life come to sell and buy their stuffs and its place to get an experience with Bhutanese lifestyle, tradition and culture .Overnight at Hotel, Thimpu.

After having breakfast, transfer to Paro; one of the well known tourist destination by one hour morning scenic drive. before going to Paro take a diversion to the Chele La pass at an altitude of aprrox. 3900m, on one side is the Paro and on the other side is Haa valley; take a short leg straitening walk on the pass when the temperature is cool. Weather permitting you will see the Bhutanese Himalayas from the pass including the highest peak Gangar Puensum 7546 m and second highest peak Jumolhari Peak 7314 m. On the way back to Paro, stop at a place for the hike (optional) to a monastery called Dzondrakha which looks similar to famous Tiger’s Nest monastery but located at shorter hiking distance, half the walk will be along the agricultural field and very easy, another half will be an uphill climb and when both versions of hikes are summed up it will take less than 1 hour to reach at the top where the monastery stands. On reaching the site of the monastery, one would enjoy the view of the fertile Paro valley below and your guide will take you inside the main temple of the monastery and return to hotel and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, hike up to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s nest) for 4 to 5 hours), situated at 3,180m is one of the most sacred places for the Bhutanese in the Country. It provides an unforgettable view of the Paro valley 1000 meters beneath and a chance to see the unusual temple clinging to the side of the cliff. Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where the Taktsang Monastery now stands. People from all over Bhutan and neighboring countries try to visit this monastery once in their live time as it is believed that one gains merit after visiting. A less strenuous pony ride to the temple is also available on extra payment .In the afternoon, visit Kichu Lhakhang; one of the oldest temple in Bhutan, Ta Dzong National Museum, Paro Rinpung Dzong; which means “fortress made from a heap of jewels “and Drugyal Dzong Built in 1646 to defend the valley against the Tibetan invaders, old watch tower and get an ample chance to see the old and new textiles and flora and fauna collections and return to hotel and overnight at Hotel, Thimpu.

After having breakfast, transfer to the airport in Paro for the flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel and rest for refreshment. Enjoy the free time by shopping at souvenir shops or hanging around Thamel(Tourism hub city).In the evening, Farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with a cultural dance performance.

Leisure until departure. Transfer to international airport to board the flight
