The Kathmandu Shivapuri Kapan Day Hiking Tour is a delightful and brilliant hiking trail on the outskirts of the valley. The hiking trails pass through green forests, beautiful traditional villages, meadows, and farmlands away from the hustle and bustle of the city, of Kathmandu. Various cultures, costumes,s and traditions of the people from the countryside can be experienced along with the mesmerizing beauty of nature during the hiking.
Itinerary
After breakfast, pi ck up from hotel and transfer to base of Shivapuri Hill in a private vehicle which is located 9 km north of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,563m. It is the second-highest hill around the valley.
Start hiking up to the top of the hill for 02-03 hours from the base of Shivapuri Hill passing through Narayanthan Temple, Shivapuri Conservation area and Nagi Gompa; a Buddhist monastery for nuns. After reaching the top of the hill, witness the beautiful and mesmerizing view of the snow-capped Himalayas around the valley and the whole Kathmandu valley beneath. Then, hike down to Kapan for about 04-05 hours through beautiful traditional villages and farmland.Visit Kapan Monastery, a Tibetan-styled monastery established in 1975 and then drive back to Kathmandu.
