Chisapani Nagrkot Hiking Route

This hike starts at Sundarijal, which is about an hour's drive away from Kathmandu, either by private vehicle or public vehicle. Then hike up to Chisapani for about 5–6 hours. The trail is gently uphill in the beginning and then flat on the top, passing through a big watershed that provides 40 percent of the drinking water to Kathmandu Valley in the Shivapuri National Park and then a traditional Tamang village, Mulkharka, at an altitude of 1800m. The trail is peaceful, with birds chirping as it passes through lush forests of oak and rhododendron, traditional Nepali villages, and stunning views of the Himalayas.

Chisapani, a small hill station, is one of the best viewing points to observe the panoramic view of the Langtang Himalayas range. After spending the night at Chisapani, the next day you can continue your journey to Nagarkot. The trail from Chisapani to Nagarkot is approximately 12 km long and takes about 4–5 hours to complete, depending on your fitness level and pace. The trail is well-marked and relatively easy to follow, with some moderate uphill sections passing through dense forests and terraced fields before reaching Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a popular hill station and scenic spot known for its breathtaking views of the Himalayas of eastern Nepal, including Mount Everest, beautiful landscapes, and sunrise and sunset as well.

The early sunrise view from Nagarkot is extremely fascinating and mesmerizing. Nagarkot is one of the best places for sightseeing and hiking. Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet and greet at the international airport. Transfer to the hotel, briefing on the trip. Check into the hotel and rest for refreshments. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel and head towards Kathmandu sightseeing tour, especially UNESCO world cultural heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, for the experience of a beautiful fusion of religion, culture, and history. These heritage monuments reflect the centuries-old culture, arts, and architecture of Nepal, which are unique in the world. After the tour, drop off at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel and drive to Sundarijal by private vehicle, which is 15 km long and takes about an hour. Then hike up to Chisapani for about 5–6 hours. The trail ascends up, passing through Shivapuri Watershed and Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve, and reaches Mulkharka, the first settlement of Tamang habitats with unique settlements. It then ascends further up to a ridge and then descends down to Chisapani through a forest of oak and rhododendron. Overnight at the hotel in Chisapani.

Early in the morning, observe the beautiful sunrise and panoramic view of the Himalayas in Langtang Region. After breakfast, hike to Nagarkot, which takes about 5–6 hours. The trail is mostly flat and passes through forests and villages, which is really pleasant and offers picturesque countryside landscapes and mountain views. After reaching Nagarkot, enjoy the beautiful sunset view and Kathmandu valley from Nagarkot. Overnight at the hotel, Nagarkot.

In the sharp morning, observe the beautiful sunrise, amazing landscapes of the countryside, and panoramic views of mountains, including Mt.Everest. After breakfast, hike down to Changunarayan, one of the oldest medieval Hindu temples in Nepal, which takes about 3-4 hours. This is a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit Changunarayan temple to explore its artistic and religious values, and further hike down to Danchhi for about an hour. Then, transfer to the hotel, which is about an hour's drive away.
