Overview

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is an exciting trekking in the Mustang and Annapurna regions of Nepal. This trekking begins in Kathmandu with the exotic heritage tour of UNESCO sites. Next, drive to Pokhara, the beautiful Lake City and begins trekking from here. This trek goes in the Mustang region at first and then gradually enters the beautiful Annapurna region. During the trek, the trail passes through quaint villages, cascading waterfalls, lush forests and surprisingly an almost-barren leeward side of the Himalayas. The diverse mountain landscapes combined with the rich culture of its people makes this trek rewarding. Jomsom Muktinath Trek goes on trails along the Kali Gandaki gorge which is the deepest gorge on earth and then visit Muktinath Temple which is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Dipping into the natural hot spring pool at Tatopani, will also be a wonderful experience. The trek ends to Pokhara followed by a drive to Kathmandu.

The Jomsom Muktinath trekking is full of spirituality, one that fills the soul with vigor and eliminates the sins of one’s life.The region’s unique cultures and traditions of the villages are very fascinating. The ancient village of Kagbeni near the upper Mustang and Muktinath, towards north-east is a journey to remember. Muktinath is a divine and admired temple surrounded by huge trees and pure spring water sprouts from the area. Lord Vishnu, the god of salvation, is the celebrated deity of the temple and worshipped by both Hindu and Buddhist followers. The shrines and Buddhist monastery, Jewel Maya Spring and natural gas erupting form the ground with blazing fire glorifies the temple even more. The trekking back trails through the Kali Gandaki, the deepest gorge in the world and also through the admirable Thakali and Gurung villages.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu,meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to hotel. Short briefing of trip. Check in to hotel and rest for refreshment .Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and head towards the Kathmandu sightseeing tour especially UNESCO world cultural heritage sites which includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square for the experience of beautiful fusion of religion, culture and history. These heritage monuments reflect the centuries old arts, architecture and culture of Nepalese people which are unique in world. After tour, drop off to hotel and make a preparation for Jomsom Muktinath Trek, including all trekking permits and equipments. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and drive to Pokhara by Tourist bus which takes approximately 07 hours. Check in to hotel and rest for refreshment. In the evening, visit to Lakeside and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Phewa lake.Overnight at hotel, Pokhara.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and transfer to Pokhara airport for the flight to Jomsom, a beautiful stunning mountain town.The flight is about 20 minutes long and scenic in the morning which gives a close up view of Himalayas in Annapurna range.

After landing Jomsom, start the first day of the trek to Kagbeni along the bank of Kaligandaki River. The trek is gentle and takes about 03 hours to reach Kagbeni, a beautiful place in the middle of mountains, gives the great views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche peaks.Overnight at hotel, Kagbeni.

After breakfast, start the trek to Mukntinath which takes approximately 02 hrs. It is a very important holy pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhist having a special spiritual charm. Overnight at hotel, Muktinath.

After a lovely mountain breakfast, drive to Jomsom for one and half hour which gives the glimpse of mountain driving in Nepal. After reaching Jomsom, start the trek to Marpha for about two hours through the gentle downhill trail. It is a beautiful village famous for apple orchards and vegetable farms. Overnight at Hotel, Marpha.

After breakfast, drive to Tatopani (hot water) for about 3.5 hrs. Enjoy a hot natural spring bath dipping into pool and wash away the tiredness. Overnight at Tea house, Tatopani.

After breakfast, start the trek to Ghorepani for about 06-07 hours, probably the longest day of this trip. It is the most popular and beautiful town in the mountain for the magnificent close up view of Mt.Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range which are eight thousanders high peaks.Overnight at Tea house, Ghorepani.

Early morning, hike up to Poon hill for about one and half hour to see the spectacular sunrise and the breathtaking views of wide Himalayan panorama stretching from Dhaulagiri 8167m (the world’s seventh highest peak) in the west to Manaslu 8156m (the world’s eighth highest peak) in the east, with the mighty Annapurna range in between them. Hike down to Ghorepani for the lovely breakfast. After breakfast, start the downhill trekking to Nayapul for about 05-06 hrs and then drive to Pokhara for about 1.5 hrs.Check in to hotel and rest for refreshment. Overnight at hotel, Pokhara.

This is a rest day for exploring the natural and adventurous wonders of Pokhara which includes boating in Phewa Lake, visit to devis falls, Gupteshwor cave and adventurous activities like Para gliding, Ultra-light Flight and Zip Flyer in an extra cost.

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu retracing the same highway. After reaching Kathmandu, transfer to hotel and rest for refreshment.Enjoy the free time by shopping at souvenir shops or hanging around the thamel(Tourism hub city).In the evening, farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with cultural dance performance. Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.

Leisure until departure. Transfer to international airport to board the flight.
