Overview

Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek is the most popular trekking trail of Langtang region. It is one of the closest trekking destinations from Kathmandu. Generally, the region is also quieter than the Annapurna or Everest.It provides an opportunity to explore the magnificent view of snowcapped mountains, beautiful landscapes and waterfalls, Riches bio diversity national park with diverse flora and fauna, Tibetan monasteries, primitive Tibetan styles houses and Tamang culture at langtang valley, high mountain sacred lake for Hindus and Buddhist at Gosainkund where trekkers enjoy the freshness and feel the spirituality in the silent atmosphere of the lake and finally explore a rich Tibetan culture and tradition of Sherpa indigenous people at Helambu village.

The trek begins from Kathmandu with the visit of cultural heritage sites to the exploration of natural, cultural and religious treasures of Langtang region considering an ultimate destination, Helambu.It is a beautiful village inhabited by Sherpa ethnic group but a marked influence of Tibetan culture and tradition is noticed in their lifestyle closely resembling that of most Tibetan villages.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to hotel. Short briefing of trip. Check in to hotel and rest for refreshment. Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and head towards the Kathmandu sightseeing tour especially UNESCO world cultural heritage sites which includes Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square for the experience of beautiful fusion of religion, culture and history. These heritage monuments reflect centuries old culture, arts and architecture of Nepal which are unique in world. After tour, drop off to hotel and make a preparation for Langtang Valley Trekking including all the trekking permits and equipments. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu.

After breakfast, pick up from hotel and drive to Syabru Beshi for about 07-08 hrs through the scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas. It is a beautiful village stretched out along the ridgeline and starting point of this Trekking. Overnight at Guest house, Syabru Beshi.

After breakfast, start the first day of the trek to Lama Hotel. It is the easiest part of the trek. The trail ascends gently up Lama Hotel through forest. En route, there might be encounter with Red Panda, monkey and Bear. Overnight at Tea House, Lama Hotel.

After breakfast, start the trek to Langtang Village. The trail passes through the dense forest. During the Trekking, glimpse of Langtang Lirung Peak, white monkeys and birds can be seen. Overnight at Teat House, Langtang Village.

After breakfast, start the trek to Kyangjin Gompa for about 03 hours. The trail ascends up gradually through small villages and yak pastures which provides excellent panoramic close up view of Langtang Lirung(7,245m),Langtang Ri (6,370m), Genjempol, Ganjala and Naya Kenga Himal ranges. Overnight at Teat House, Kyangjin Gumpa.

After breakfast, proceed the excursion of Kyangjin Gompa and its surroundings.Visit the around 400 years old Monastery and Yak Cheese Factory. Ascend up Kyangjin Ri (4,350 m) to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or hike to Tsergo Ri (4,984m) for a breath-taking panoramic view of the Langtang peak. Hike back to Kyangjin Gompa and overnight too.

After breakfast, start the trek back to Lama Hotel retracing the same trail that follows steep descent. Overnight at Tea House, Lama Hotel.

After breakfast, start the trek to Thulo Syabru.The beginning of the trek is gently descent till Pairo and then steep ascent to Thulo Syabru.The upper part of the trail is more beautiful, it offers panoramic view of mountains and green hills. En route, there might be spotted red pandas, monkey and various species of birds. This region is dominated by ethnic Tamang community who have adopted the Tibetan lifestyle. Overnight at Tea house, Thulo Syabru.

After breakfast, start the trek to Sing Gompa.It is an amazing place to experience the Tibetan lifestyle and culture that is followed by the settlement along the area. The view of the mountains along the journey is an ideal one. Visit Cheese factory and Buddhist monastery. Overnight at Tea house, Sing Gompa.

After breakfast, start the trek to Gosainkund Lake. The trek goes on a rugged trail with dramatic views of Himal Chuli (7893m.,) Manaslu (8156m,) and Ganesh Himal (7406m). At Gosainkunda, there are dozens of lakes. Among them, the major three are Saraswatikund, Bharab Kunda and Gosainkunda.Visit and explore the Gosiankund Lake. This lake is considered to be one of the holiest lakes of the Hindus and the Buddhists. According to a legend, Gosainkunda was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed poison. This trekking destination is famous for the Langtang valley with Tamang culture, Mountain views, Tibetan Monasteries, primitive Tibetan style houses, yak cheese factory, beautiful landscape, and waterfalls. Overnight at Tea house, Gosainkund.

After breakfast, start the trek to Ghopte. At first, trek from Gosainkunda to Lauribinayak Pass (4610m) then to Ghopte (3,430m). The trek leaves Gosainkund and climbs up Lauibinayak Pass through rugged trail, the highest point of this trek. Keep looking back for spectacular views of Manaslu and the mountains of the Ganesh Himal, as well as the recent familiar Langtang Lirung.Then descend down to Gopte. Overnight at Tea house, Ghopte.

After breakfast, start the trek to Melamchi Gaon (2650m.) via Tharepati Pass (3490m.) The first part of the trek is gently descent and then starts ascending through the rhododendron forests until it reaches Tharepati. From Tharepati, the trail gradually descend down to Helambu valley through pine and rhododendron forests. It offers a magnificent view of Jugal Himal and Numbur of peaks in Solu Khumbu. Melamchi Gaon is mainly inhabited by Sherpa people. Explore the monasteries in leisure time at Melamchi.Overnight at Tea house, Melamchi Gaon.

After breakfast, start the trek to Tarkeghyang.The early part of the trek descends until it crosses the stream named as Melamchi. From here, the trail goes to Tarkeghyang. It is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the oldest and biggest monasteries. Overnight at Tea house, Tarkeghyang.

After breakfast, start the trek to Shermathang. The trek today is comparatively easier than the previous days as the trail goes through flat land with beautiful forests. On the way, the trek will  penetrate the village called Shermathang. Visit some ancient monasteries and overnight at Tea House, Shermathang.

After breakfast, start the trek to Melamchi Bazaar.The trail gradually descend down to Melamchi Bazaar through meadows, cultivated fields and across several villages. En route, it provides the opportunity to experience the culture and life style of local people by interacting with them. Overnight at Guest house, Melamchi Bazaar.

After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu for about 03 hours. After reaching Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel and rest for refreshment. Enjoy the free time by shopping at some souvenir shops or hanging around Thamel (Tourism hub city).In the evening, Farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with cultural dance performance. Overnight at Hotel, Kathmandu.

Leisure until departure.Transfer to international airport to board the flight.
